Tom Hanks and Rita Wilson have been together for years, and they are one of Hollywood’s most successful couples marriage-wise.

But in its Dec. 20 issue, Woman’s Day claimed that Hanks and Wilson are struggling right now and it’s all because of their son Chet.

The 31-year-old recently made headlines following his split from Kiana Parker and the exes’ lawsuits against each other.

Investigations also revealed that Chet was verbally and physically abusive to Parker that’s why the latter was granted a restraining order against the former.

Chet made headlines once again when he revealed that he’s an anti-vaxxer even though both his parents previously battled COVID-19.

A source claimed that these, as well as Chet’s other troubles, impacted Hanks and Wilson’s marriage negatively.

“His anti-vaccine rhetoric was difficult for them especially as they were at the forefront of promoting it. But things promptly got worse, especially when he faced court accused of some extremely vile things amid his ex-girlfriend’s abuse lawsuit against him,” the source said.

The insider also said that the events from the past nine months have caused distress to Hanks and Wilson. Even though they love their son to the core, it was the first time that the couple was ever at odds with each other as parents.

“Tom wanted to publicly address some of Chet’s allegations He worried it was going to do real damage to their family, but Rita wouldn’t hear of it. Despite privately being seriously disappointed with some of Chet’s past behavior, her view is that he’s still their son and they should not air their dirty laundry. In the end, Rita won out,” the source said.

While it is possible that Chet’s recent troubles are affecting Hanks and Wilson as parents, it’s unlikely that they are affecting the A-listers as a couple.

Chet is already an adult so he could deal with his own problems and issues on his own. And Hanks and Wilson are just there to guide him and support him no matter what.

Toward the end of the tabloid claims, they said that the couple’s marriage is still rock solid. This proves that Hanks and Wilson’s marriage isn’t on the rocks.

There’s also no indication that Hanks and Wilson disagree on how they should deal with Chet because the couple has been united since the beginning.
