Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’s text messages to the Duchess of Sussex’s dad, Thomas Markle Sr. confirm that the latter’s claims about being ignored by the royal couple were incorrect.

During a previous interview, the former lighting director claimed that he has reached out to Prince Harry and Markle a handful of times but has never received a response.

However, court documents proved that the royal couple tried to contact Thomas several times before they tied the knot. Prince Harry and Markle also contacted Thomas after they found out that he suffered from a heart attack.

Prince Harry also warned his father-in-law about the repercussions of talking to the press. Unfortunately, Thomas refused to listen to him.

“Tom, Harry again! I really need to speak to u. U do not need to apologize, we understand the circumstances but ‘going public’ will only make the situation worse. If u love Meg and want to make it right please call me as there are two other options which don’t involve u having to speak to the media, who incidentally created this whole situation. So please call me so I can explain. Meg and I are not angry, we just need to speak to u. Thanks,” Prince Harry’s text message read.

Markle’s text to her dad also revealed that the “Suits” alum tried to call Thomas several times. However, he never picked up.

And after Thomas was rushed to the hospital, Markle asked her dad who she and Prince Harry could help. She also said dispatched a group of security men to check up on Thomas but the latter urged them to leave when they visited his home.

The court documents also revealed that the last time Prince Harry and Markle heard from Thomas was on the eve of their royal wedding. They received a missed call from him but they were unable to answer the call.

During his previous interviews with various publications, Thomas has presented himself as a dad who misses his daughter greatly.

Thomas said on “Good Morning Britain” that he calls and texts Markle every single day but he has never received a response from her. At that time, Thomas also called his daughter controlling. However, he denied the claims that the former Hollywood star is rude.

“The ghosting, I don’t completely understand. She’s always been in charge, that’s her nature, but she has been always polite with it,” he said.
