Katie Holmes is allegedly back in the dating scene. In its August 30 issue, Woman’s Day published a photo of Holmes strolling the streets of New York with a much older guy.

The tabloid described the unnamed man as George Clooney’s lookalike.

And while the actor has a slight resemblance to Holmes's date, there is no indication that they are dating.

A source close to the actress also revealed that the mystery man is Holmes’ writing buddy. And they just started to keep in touch again after several years.

“He’s a writing buddy she’s known for years. They were very close back in 2017. But when they started getting a bit of attention, he backed out of any serious relationship,” the source said.

However, the tabloid’s timeline couldn’t be more wrong. After all, Holmes was still dating Jamie Foxx in 2017.

The A-listers only split in 2019 so it’s unlikely for Holmes to be entertaining another man while she was with the artist.

Months after their split, Holmes dated Emilio Vitolo. So, there was no way for the actress to have had a thing with her writing buddy.

There has been a slew of rumors surrounding Holmes in recent months.

Shortly after her split from Vitolo, Holmes was linked to a slew of men.

In May, New Idea claimed that she is dating Alexander Skarsgard.

A source back then claimed that Holmes and Skarsgard's relationship started with just an invitation for coffee. 

And since then, the A-listers have been hanging out a lot to the point that their family and friends no longer know where they are. 

"They’ve both gone quiet and everyone’s convinced they’ve continued to meet up but in secret. Makes a change from her last romance, that’s for sure,” the source said.

However, the rumors died down shortly after because the tabloid was unable to provide any concrete proof that Holmes and Skarsgard are really an item.

And prior to her split from Vitolo, there were also rumors that they were already planning their wedding.

At one point, several tabloids claimed that the couple is already engaged and that Holme is pregnant with her second child.

However, none of these rumors are true. Holmes is still single, and she has been single since her split from Vitolo earlier this year.

By the looks of it, the tabloid is just linking her to whichever man she hangs out with for the simple reason that she’s single.
