Yolanda Hadid is finally speaking out about her granddaughter, born last September to her daughter Gigi and her partner, Zayn Malik.

People reports that the 56-year-old television personality and former model talked about her new grandchild on her Instagram account, posting a colored image of the infant holding her hand. In the caption, Hadid described her granddaughter as an “angel” that has filled her heart with love and joy.

Hadid had previously expressed her excitement at her granddaughter's arrival, posting a black and white image on her Instagram account last month, showing her hugging her daughter’s baby bump.

E! Online also reports that Hadid expressed her gratitude to Zayn and Gigi for making her an “Oma,” saying that she loved every minute of the experience.

The media outfit also recalled a previous interview Hadid took part in, where she said part of her excitement for the arrival of her granddaughter comes from the recent loss of her own mother.

Yolanda Hadid’s latest Instagram post is just the latest show of love between mother and daughter. During Mother’s Day this year, Gigi expressed her wish to be as good a mother as Yolanda on her Instagram account. 

Under a throwback photo of her and her mom on her Instagram account, Gigi described Yolanda as a superhero and the best mother one could ask for. The elder Hadid responded to the sweet gesture by leaving a heart emoji in the comments section and thanking her daughter for the greeting.

The younger Hadid had earlier expressed her joy at the birth of her daughter on her Instagram account, posting a black and white picture of her daughter grasping Malik’s hand. The model said that her daughter has already changed their world.

For his part, Malik tweeted a similar picture on his Twitter account and said the baby is healthy and beautiful. He said, putting into words the love he felt for his daughter was an “impossible task” and expressed his gratitude at the life they will have together.

Hadid and Malik are just the latest celebrity couple to welcome a child into the world. Last May, Rupert Grint of Harry Potter fame welcomed a daughter with his partner, actress Georgia Groome.

Lea Michele and her husband, Zandy Reich, also welcomed a baby boy last August. Sources confirmed that the child is named Ever Leo.

In September, television personality Lance Bass also confirmed that actress Jessica Biel and singer Justin Timberlake had welcomed their second child into the world.
