Meghan Markle's $50 Million Dollar Paycheck: Duchess' First Role In Hollywood May Come With A Hefty Fee
Before she was known as the Duchess of Sussex, Meghan Markle was simply Meghan Markle, a successful actress, and an activist. Her marriage to Prince Harry, a British monarchy, catapulted her name into the world stage, and although her royal life was short she made sure that everyone is to know her name.
January this year, the couple decided to step down from their royal duties following many scandals about Meghan and the royal family.
Prince Harry and Meghan then decided to live in Canada to plan their future away from the royal family. Months after living in Canada, and with the lockdowns caused by the pandemic, the couple decided to move from Canada to LA in the US.
Together with their 1-year-old son, Archie, the couple stayed in a friend’s mansion before decidedly buying their very own estate in Santa Barbara, California.
But now that Meghan is back in the US soil and not just that, in Santa Barbara itself, a 2-hour drive from Hollywood, could she be going back to her old career? The Duchess before marrying Prince Harry was a successful actress, playing as a paralegal in the hit TV series ‘Suits’.
According to some sources the Duchess was earning up to $40,000 per episode in the series and that she would net around $400,000 dollars a year from the series itself. She did some films during her career as well.
“I think her pulling power both in America and on a global scale is phenomenal. Whatever role she does everyone is going to want to see her. We are talking a $50 million fee. People are going to be fascinated to see her perform at the very start. If she returns to Suits it would be the biggest TV series in the world.” Intertalent chairman, Professor Jonathan Salit OBE said.
Mr. Salit continued saying that the box office appeal of Meghan will solely be the largest factor for her fee and that talent is not merely as important as appeal to the audience.
Meghan has already lent her voice for the Disney docu movie ‘Elephants’, she narrated the movie and the procedure goes to the charity Elephants Without Borders. Prince Harry also appeared in a Netflix documentary regarding the Paralympics.
The couple although active with their virtual engagements are said to have their hands full as of now. They are doing many virtual meetings and talks, as well as building the charity ‘Archwell’, named after there first son and are said to be concentrating on that.
