In recent weeks, the Duke and Duchess of Sussex have been actively supporting one of the biggest movements in recent years, The Black Lives Matter movement.

After news broke out of them stepping down from their senior royal duties, the couple has continued to do charity work outside of their former royal duties despite the heavy backlash they have received.

The Duke and Duchess of Sussex have been vocal about the Black Lives Matter movement as this is something that matters very much to Meghan and to Harry. This is not the first time that the couple has been supportive of movements to help battle racism, The Duchess of Sussex, who is biracial herself has been actively supporting movements battling racism for many years now.

A video of Meghan has resurfaced in the past weeks of her voicing out her support battling racism and discussing her biracial roots and struggles as a woman of color. Openly supporting the Black Lives Matter movement is just one of the many duties that the couple has tackled after stepping down as senior royals.

“The Black Lives Matter movement matters to Meghan and it matters to Harry and I understand that this is going to be an area where we’re going to see the couple doing a lot more work and taking a lot more interest,” Katie Nicholl, a royal correspondent, said, per Daily Express.

The Duke and Duchess of Sussex have also been actively doing their part in spreading awareness regarding the Corona Virus pandemic, the couple shifting their focus on the Black Lives Matter does not mean that they have also forgotten the other causes that are important to them.

The relevance of the couple supporting The Black Lives Matter movement is a touchy topic. This has put the couple in the limelight with many critics already dead set against them. The couple clearly understands the repercussion but chose to continue supporting the movement and shifting their energy in showing their support to the Black Lives Matter movement, a movement that strongly resonates with the couple.

The Duchess believes that many are waiting for her to say something about the movement, she strongly believes in the Black Lives Matter and is taking careful steps in showing her support, Harry clearly backs his wife on this matter and is taking the same precautionary steps as his wife.
