Queen Margrethe of Denmark’s health is allegedly deteriorating.

New Idea, in its Feb. 27 issue, claimed that Crown Prince Frederik and Crown Princess Mary are worried about the monarch after she was forced to cancel her engagements due to some health issues.

“For quite some time, Her Majesty has been affected by problems with her back and the situation has worsened recently,” the source said.

The queen’s calendar was reportedly cleared out following her recent surgery. And it seems she would take some time to recover from the procedure.

Back in 2007, she also underwent surgery on her knees and has been getting small procedures here and there throughout the past couple of decades.

According to the source, Queen Margrethe’s family knows that she doesn’t have long to live. But just like Queen Elizabeth, she has no plans to abdicate unless it becomes difficult for her to move around.

In the past, Queen Margrethe already gave her son and daughter-in-law her vote of confidence in the couple taking over the position. But even if this is the case, Crown Prince Frederik and Crown Princess Mary are not ready to say goodbye to the monarch.

Meanwhile, royal correspondent Jacob Heinel Jensen said that the monarchy will be in good hands under the royal couple’s reign.

“I don’t have any doubt the queen feels Frederik is ready with Mary by his side. She thinks Mary is a very strong woman who brings out the best in her son. Mary is already the de facto queen in many people’s eyes,” the source said.

While it is true that Queen Margrethe’s health could be deteriorating because of her age, there is no indication that her days are numbered. It’s not also true that Frederik and Mary are worried about her.

The only accurate thing that the tabloid said has to do with Queen Margrethe showing her support for her son and daughter-in-law.

When the time comes that Queen Margrethe passes away, Crown Prince Frederik and Crown Princess Mary will take over the throne and they will be wonderful at their job.

For now, all eyes are still on Queen Margrethe as she recovers from her recent back surgery and other possible health issues that the public might not be aware of.
