Queen Margrethe Plans To Step Down From Her Role Following The Backlash Of Stripping Her Son, Grandchildren’s Royal Titles?
Queen Margrethe is allegedly planning to step down from her role as monarch due to the backlash that she has been receiving.
According to Woman’s Day, Queen Margrethe is stressing over the backlash following her decision to strip her son and grandchildren of their royal titles.
“Margrethe never anticipated that her choice would have such a catastrophic effect on her reign, but with her public approval plummeting, she is wisely considering all options, the first of which is to have Fred and Mary take over most of her financial engagements,” the source said.
The insider that Queen Margrethe is also feeling extreme pressure to step aside because a lot of people lost their trust in her for doing what she did to her son and grandkids.
“There is enormous pressure on her to step aside and let her more popular son and daughter-in-law step up and save the monarchy. But right now, the queen is still digesting the huge backlash against her,” the source said.
Meanwhile, there are also some ongoing rumors claiming that Queen Margrethe’s son’s recent interview did not help the ongoing controversy. In fact, it just made things worse.
“Things couldn’t be worse behind the scenes… Marie’s absence was a clear message but a clever one – it’s hard to say a word when there’s a sick child involved,” the source said.
The source also claimed that Queen Margrethe is still reeling following the death of her husband. And she has never been the same ever since.
“Henrik managed the emotional affairs of the family and she’s been unable to bridge that gap. Having trained all her life for duty, she’s going to come across as emotionless and uncaring in the absence of Henrik,” the source said.
While it is true that Queen Margrethe stripped her son and grandchildren of their royal titles, her reason for doing so seems valid. After all, she wants to slim down the monarchy and wants to ensure that those who don’t have royal titles can lead more private lives.
And just like with any other decision that she would make, some people are bound to support her while others wouldn’t. So, the backlash that she has been getting isn’t necessarily a big deal, contrary to what the tabloid is suggesting.
