Cheryl has allegedly been contemplating adopting a baby so that her son Bear could have a sibling.

Closer UK, in its Feb. 10 issue, claimed that Cheryl has been thinking about adopting a baby for quite some time now. And she’s turning to her good friend, Simon Cowell for help and advice.

“The pandemic delayed everything for Cheryl. She felt the clock was already ticking when she first started looking into sperm donors and lining up appointments with specialists. Now, she’s had to face the reality that she is getting older, and that is something she’s been getting her head around, which hasn’t been easy,” the source said.

The source said that it has always been Cheryl’s dream to expand her family.

“If Cheryl could have a baby tomorrow she would. She feels torn over whether to give another child all she’s got – whether it’s adoption or a sperm donor – or whether to let it go. All she’s ever wanted is to have a football team of kids running around, but she also knows her time is running out, so she’s been emotionally preparing herself for that,” the source said.

For now, nothing has allegedly been made final for Cheryl because she is also busy with her work and her show. On top of these, the singer is also just gaining her confidence back.

However, one should take the tabloid’s claims with a grain of salt. It’s not true that Cheryl consulted with Cowell to ask for help regarding her adoption plans. Even though the two personalities are very close, Cowell doesn’t seem like an expert when it comes to adoption matters.

It’s not also true that Cheryl wants to adopt a baby right now. It’s obvious that her previous statements were just taken out of context when she said that she has been thinking about adoption.

Even though the idea crossed her mind at least once, she has not done anything to make it happen. It is possible for Cheryl to adopt a baby one day, but it’s unlikely for her to do it right now.

After all, if she has actual plans to adopt a baby, she would already share the news with her fans and friends and would’ve gushed over the entire process.
