Cher is allegedly engaged to her boyfriend Alexander “AE” Edwards.

In its Jan. 16 issue, Life & Style claimed that the 36-year-old music exec came up with the sweetest proposal for Cher. However, a source claimed that Cher did not immediately say yes or no to Edwards.  

“AE proposed to Cher and said all the things a woman wants to hear when a man gets down on one knee. She didn’t say yes, but she didn’t say no,” the source said.

Even though Cher did not immediately give Edwards a resounding yes, she allegedly accepted the ring and has been showing it off to her friends.

“Cher’s shown the ring to her friends and some are worried this is all moving way too fast. This isn’t like Cher getting mushy over a man. But they also know Cher’s not stupid. If she and AE truly intend to marry, she’ll have an ironclad prenup agreement in place,” the source said.

Earlier this week, Heat UK also published a similar story about Cher and Edwards. But the tabloids claimed that Cher’s sons are trying to separate the two from each other.

After Chaz Bono and Elijah Blue found out that Edwards proposed to Cher they allegedly became enraged. After all, they didn’t think that Edwards was serious about their mom and were also concerned that he was just using her for her connections and money.

“They found the whole thing extremely bizarre when it first started but buried their heads in the sand and assumed it would peter out, once their mom saw sense. Now that it’s very apparent he’s in for the long haul, it makes Chaz and Elijah so nervous. They know their mom’s as headstrong as ever, but they figure urgent action is needed before she potentially ends up hurt or humiliated,” the source said.

However, one should take the tabloids’ claims with a grain of salt. Bono and Blue do not have anything to worry about because Edwards has not proposed to Cher.

And even if he did propose to Cher, it’s highly likely for Bono and Blue to support their mom’s happiness.

Since Cher is an adult and her children are also adults, she can enjoy her remaining years and she can also love whoever she wants to love.
