Meghan Markle and Kate Middleton have been pitted against each other for years. The former has also been accused of trying to overshadow her sister-in-law.

The most recent incident wherein the Duchess of Sussex was accused of overshadowing Middleton took place after she and Prince Harry released their portrait. Two days earlier, Middleton appeared in a new photo with King Charles, Queen Consort Camilla, and Prince William.

Now, National Enquirer is claiming that Markle has a twisted obsession to outshine her sister-in-law.

“Meghan expected to be a royal superstar when she married Harry but quickly realized Kate stood in her way. She seethed over playing second fiddle to William’s wife, who will be queen when her husband succeeds her father, King Charles. She was also jealous of Kate’s close relationship with Harry, who’s called the princess the sister he never had,” the source said.

The source added that Prince Harry’s wife also became obsessed with denying the story about her making Middleton cry. She insisted that she was the other way around during her conversation with Oprah Winfrey. However, not a lot of people believed her version of events.

But the source insisted that Markle made the wrong decision to diss Middleton during her interview because the palace would never tolerate what she was doing.

“She could have been a royal star, but her obsession with outsmarting her sister-in-law ended that – fast,” the source said.

While it is true that Markle aired her side of the story, it’s not true that she’s obsessed with outshining Middleton. What’s more likely is that the in-laws are being pitted against each other so their every move seems to be highlighted.

There’s also no indication that Markle and Middleton are still feuding right now. Omid Scobie said it best when he explained that the in-laws never became best friends due to their differences. But this doesn’t mean that they hate each other.

Throughout the past four years, it’s obvious that the tabloids enjoy attacking Markle and praising Middleton. But at the end of the day, no one really knows how they feel toward each other.

Royal experts also confirmed in the past that Prince William and Prince Harry are the ones who had a falling out and not their spouses. And this is more than enough confirmation that the tabloid’s claims are inaccurate.
