Actor Hagen Mills Dead After Murder-Suicide
Tragic news out of Kentucky as the 29-year-old actor Hagen Mills has killed himself after attempting to murder his wife.
As reported by Page Six, the Baskets actor shot his wife, Erica Price, outside of their own home in Mayfield, Kentucky before turning the gun on himself. The 29-year-old actor was pronounced dead on the scene, while the 34-year-old Price is hospitalized but in a stable condition.
Aside from shooting Price, Mills apparently also held his mother-in-law and four-year-old daughter hostage until his wife returned home from work.
Citing a police report, People says an injured Price was the first one to meet police officers who arrived around 5:45 in the afternoon. Price was also the one to tell the police that Mills had killed himself with the gun.
Elyah Doryon, Mills’s agent, described him as an actor and horseman with talent, as well as a guy with the charm and hospitality of a Southern gentleman.
Aside from appearing in “Baskets,” Mills also had roles in productions like “Star Light,” “Downhill,” “Bonnie & Clyde: Justified,” and “Swedish Dicks.”
Mills’s involvement in this attempted murder-suicide is the latest violent altercation a celebrity has been involved in since the global coronavirus pandemic started. Several weeks ago, “Duck Dynasty” star Willie Robertson experienced having his estate become part of a drive-by shooting.]
According to Robertson, the drive-by shooting targeted his son John Luke’s home, with bullets hitting the home’s bedroom window. Fortunately, neither John Luke, his wife Mary Kate McEachern, or their child was hurt during the incident.
With the Robertson case, police were able to quickly apprehended the suspect, who was 38-year-old Daniel King Jr. King was brought before the Ouachita Parish Sheriff’s Office and charged with one count of criminal neglect of family and one count of aggravated assault by drive-by shooting.
Robertson, his wife Korie, and their daughter Sadie were quick to assure their fans that they were okay, crediting “God’s protection” and thanking everyone that worried for them.
The lockdowns brought about the global coronavirus pandemic has also given rise to more incidents of domestic abuse and violence like what happened to Mills, and it looks like more incidents like this might occur as the number of confirmed COVID-19 cases around the world continues to rise.
According to the World Health Organization’s May 21 situation report, there are now 4,893,186 confirmed COVID-19 cases around the world, with 103,981 of that total being new cases. Deaths caused by COVID-19 globally are now at 323,256 people, with 4,467 of those being new deaths.
