Jennifer Aniston and Johnny Depp are sparking dating rumors amid the latter’s ongoing defamation trial against his ex-wife, Amber Heard.

In its May 30 issue, In Touch Weekly claimed that fans of Aniston were shocked when she publicly sided with Depp amid the ongoing trial. Doing so allegedly resulted in the actress’s friends wondering if there was something going on between the A-listers.

“It’s surprising Jen would take a side given the horrific allegations by both of them, but she seems to have. Some are even wondering if Jen and Johnny were involved,” the source said.

However, a second source said that it’s unlikely for Aniston and Depp to have dated each other. If they did, the Friends star would’ve already been included in Heard’s list of Depp’s ex-girlfriends.

“If Amber thought something had gone on with Jen, she would be on the list. That said, Jen sure created lots of buzz by following Johnny. But who isn’t following every step of this trial? It’s like the car wreck you can’t take your eyes off of,” the source said.

Coincidentally, Depp has also been linked to Aniston’s alleged nemesis, Angelina Jolie. Multiple sources previously claimed that the two A-listers fell in love while starring in a movie together.

Last year, Globe claimed that the Pirates of the Caribbean actor is desperately wooing Jolie by sending the actress flowers and other expensive gifts.

“Johnny’s openly said one of his biggest regrets in life was settling for a poor man’s version of Angie when he dated Amber. He’s by no means given up on love. He’s just incredibly picky and guarded these days, and that’s one big thing he shares with Angie,” the source said.

However, one should take the tabloids’ claims with a grain of salt.

There’s no proof that Jolie and Depp were ever interested in each other. If they were, more reputable sources would’ve already reported on their romance.

It’s not also true that Aniston is being linked to Depp. In fact, there’s no indication that the A-listers are even close friends. Aniston has not commented on Depp’s ongoing trial so no one knows for sure which side she’s on.

By the looks of it, Depp is being linked to different A-listers for the simple reason that he’s been single since his split from Heard in 2016.
