Tom Hanks is accused of hiding his two children so that he could protect his family-man image.

In its May 23 issue, New Idea claimed that Hanks’ children, Colin and Elizabeth were just 10 and 5, respectively when the actor met his wife, Rita Wilson on the set of Volunteers.

Hanks and Wilson were blessed with two children, but not much is known about the actor’s two older kids.

Since Colin and Elizabeth were still very young when Hanks left their mom, they are still, allegedly, holding a grudge against their dad.

“It was devastating for Elizabeth, especially having it all play out in the press while her mother was in so much pain. Her dad was her idol, the most perfect man ever. It didn’t make sense that he would leave. Her loyalty to her mother made things difficult for Rita, but nothing could have prepared them for what was to come,” the source said.

The source added that Elizabeth also struggled to cope with the death of her mom. After all, she was just 19 years old at the time.

“There was nothing Tom, Rita, even Colin, could do to ease Elizabeth’s pain and in many ways, this drove a bigger wedge between her and stepmom, Rita,” the source said.

But during the lockdown, Hanks and his two oldest children allegedly had the opportunity to bond with each other. And they are now slowly healing the rift that lasted decades.

“Lockdown changed a lot of the dynamics in the family. It brought them closer. Up until then, Rita was always someone trying to step into her mother’s shoes, but after spending more time with her, Elizabeth realizes she’s only got the best of intentions,” the source said.

While it is true that Wilson had the opportunity to bond with Hanks’ two children during the lockdown, there’s no proof that their relationship had been strained prior to this.

In fact, there’s also no indication that Hanks ever hid his children from Wilson and their two kids.

By the looks of it, the tabloid is just making up this story about Hanks and Wilson to make it seem as though they are having issues. After all, the tabloid mentioned the actor’s family-man image. And there’s no discounting the fact that he has been a good father to all his kids.
