Meghan Markle has reportedly been MIA since the release of Prince Harry’s memoir Spare because she’s busy working on rebranding her image.
In its Feb. 13 issue, Closer UK claimed that Markle is busy with other things that’s why she was unable to support Prince Harry while he was promoting his book.
“Meghan has been working on a secret rebrand now for months, with her famous friends giving her advice on what her next steps should be career-wise. Meghan has been leaning on the likes of Amal Clooney, Serena Williams, and cautiously, Oprah Winfrey, to discuss where she should go next. They all agree that she needs to take a break from talking about the royal family,” the source said.
The source added that Winfrey has been encouraging Markle to find a new narrative to talk about so that she could disassociate herself from the royal family for good.
“The TV host publicly told best friend Gayle King that she wanted no part in ‘family matters.’ It created an ugly atmosphere around it,” the source said.
According to the source, Prince Harry’s wife is still hoping to get an apology from the royal family. But she is slowly realizing that attacking her husband’s family constantly will just put her in more jeopardy and backlash from critics.
“Meghan is finally seeing that it could be a risky move as even the left-wing media in the US has been growing tired of all the bombshells from Harry’s book and their documentary. She’s looking at a different approach where she hopes to be seen as taking the high ground by embarking on new charity projects and initiatives – and even doing some of them by herself without Harry always having to be by her side,” the source said.
However, one should take the tabloid’s claims with a grain of salt. There’s no indication that Markle wants to undergo a rebranding just like what the tabloid claimed.
And no one knows for sure if Markle and Prince Harry are dropping bombshells about the royal family for good.
There are also a lot of reasons why Markle must have skipped the promotion of Prince Harry’s book. And the most common and sensible reason must be that Spare isn’t her memoir to promote in the first place.
