Meghan Markle and Prince Harry allegedly thought that they scored a wonderful deal when they purchased their home in Montecito.
But after just around two years, the Duke and Duchess of Sussex allegedly realized that it was the worst decision they have ever made.
In its April 4 issue, National Enquirer claimed that Prince Harry and Markle regret living in Montecito because of the skyrocketing taxes and the stinky smell of bird feces in their neighborhood.
“They thought they’d found their forever home in July 2020 when they moved in and reign as Hollywood royalty. Meghan said their moving days were over. But it’s turned into a nightmare. The mansion’s been hit with a putrid smell from a bird refuge and reeking odor issues from a nearby legal cannabis factory. But I’m told the shocking tax bill caused the biggest stink and they’re selling off,” the source said.
The insider claimed that on top of the couple’s monthly bills, they also need to shell out approximately $6 million a year just to maintain their huge home. Of course, this isn’t the only thing that the couple is paying for that’s why they are allegedly thinking about relocating.
“Add that to Meghan’s jaw-dropping clothing and jewelry bill and a huge income tax demand Harry faces now that he’s a resident in the U.S., and they’re under the financial gun like they never expected,” the source said.
But despite all these issues, there’s allegedly a silver lining when it comes to Prince Harry and Markle’s huge purchase. The source claimed that since the couple is greedy, they allegedly purchased their mansion because they know that it would be worth more when they decide to sell it.
The property is already worth $26 million right now, but Prince Harry and Markle only purchased it for $14 million two years ago.
According to the source, it was only a matter of time before Prince Harry and Markle decided to sell their property. And the latter is the one urging for the sale to happen as soon as possible.
After all, the Suits alum is allegedly worried that when her lies are exposed, Prince Harry would leave him. And if their divorce would push through, Markle may only get to enjoy half of the money they invested on their home.
However, one should take the tabloid’s claims with a grain of salt. After all, all these claims are just based on hearsays.
