Sophie, Countess of Wessex is allegedly at a breaking point.

In its Jan. 3 issue, New Idea claimed that Prince Edward’s wife has been stressing herself too much.

Following Queen Elizabeth’s health scare, there are fears that the monarch doesn’t have long to live. So, she has been passing on some of her royal duties to her children and their partners.

A source said that Sophie loves helping her mother-in-law. But in recent months, things have been too taxing for her.

In fact, during a recent outing, the mom of two allegedly broke down in tears because she could no longer handle the pressure.

“At one point during the outing, Sophie appeared to be particularly upset, wiping away what may have been a tear from her eye. As one of the queen’s closest confidants, it would come as no surprise that she is particularly worried about her latest health woes,” the source said.

The queen and Sophie have a close relationship. So, it’s not surprising to know that the latter was saddened when she found out that the queen’s health is deteriorating.

According to Express, the queen and Sophie hang out regularly. In fact, the monarch usually asks Sophie to visit her so that they can chat and eat together.

“f Sophie Wessex is staying at Sandringham then you can pretty much guarantee the Queen will ask her – usually the last thing on a Saturday night – if she would like 'a lift' to the church. The same happens at Balmoral. The queen likes to be completely calm before church and she finds Sophie’s presence soothing,” a source said.

However, there is no proof that Sophie has become too stressed because of a lot of things. And there’s also no indication that she cried during a public outing.

The tabloid published a photo of Sophie wiping her eyes but she doesn’t have tears in the snap. It’s possible that she scratched her eyes that’s why she wiped it, but she didn’t cry at the time.

Meanwhile, Sophie also made headlines recently after it was revealed that her eldest child, Lady Louise refused to accept the royal title that the queen wanted to give her.

Even before Lady Louise turned 18, Sophie already confidently said that she doesn’t think her daughter would accept the title. After all, Lady Louise wants to get a job after she finishes her education.
