Meghan Markle and Prince Harry will celebrate Christmas in the United States.

According to reports, the couple politely declined Queen Elizabeth’s invitation to celebrate Christmas with the royal family in Sandringham.

In its Dec. 18 issue, Heat UK claimed that Prince Harry and Markle didn’t just freeze out the royal family. The Duke and Duchess of Sussex don’t also have any plans to give the royals Christmas presents including the royal children.

A source said that the couple’s decision was based on principle especially since they felt that they didn’t have the royal family’s support during some of their most challenging times.

“The way Meghan sees it, anything she does will just be met with an eye roll or some form of disdain or disapproval, so she’s just not bothered,” the source said.

The insider added that Prince Harry is feeling a bit down because he won’t be able to reunite with the royal family for Christmas. But he can’t do anything about it because Markle wouldn’t allow him to go on a trip back home.

“Meghan feels for Harry, but she also thinks that they shouldn’t be the ones making all the effort. She has no issue if he wants to send his own gift, but she’s certainly not going to pretend everything’s good between her and all of his relatives who once made her miserable,” the source said.

According to the source, Prince Harry and Markle have some exemptions when it comes to their rules for Christmas gift-giving. The couple will allegedly surprise Queen Elizabeth, Princess Beatrice, and Princess Eugenie with thoughtful presents.

The tabloid’s claims are in stark contrast to what royal expert Katie Nicholl said. While speaking with OK! magazine, she said that Prince William and Middleton will send the Sussexes presents all the way from the United Kingdom.

There are also predictions that Prince Harry and Markle would extend the same gesture especially since everyone else is in the United Kingdom except for them.

As of late, there’s no concrete proof that Prince Harry and Markle don’t have plans to give the royal family gifts. And it wouldn’t also make sense for the couple to snub the royals this way.

After all, it’s the season of giving and even though there’s still tension between Prince William and Prince Harry, they will most likely set this aside so that they can focus on making this Christmas a memorable one for all.
