Blake Shelton Allegedly Threatened To Quit ‘The Voice’ Because He’s Overworked, Couldn’t Balance Family Time
Blake Shelton allegedly threatened to quit The Voice because he could no longer balance his work with his family time.
In its Dec. 13 issue, National Enquirer claimed that Shelton’s fellow judges on The Voice are worried that the singing reality TV show will be axed if the country superstar decides to quit for good.
Shelton has not allegedly shied away from telling the staff and crew of The Voice that he’s ready to leave at any given time.
“The grind didn’t give him enough time to concentrate on his career and family, and he told them he was ready to quit. So, after the current season wraps, the show won’t be back until next fall,” the source said.
The insider also said that Shelton’s wife, Gwen Stefani is aware of how toxic and tiring it is to be on The Voice. After all, the No Doubt singer also served as a coach on the show years ago.
So, one of her compromises was allegedly to return as a coach on The Voice so that she and Shelton could spend more time with each other. However, the program still has contracts with Kelly Clarkson and Ariana Grande that they need to comply with.
Following The Voice’s slashed schedule, Shelton could allegedly expect to receive a much lower income because he will also have fewer workdays. So, during his spare time, Shelton will allegedly open a $30 million Las Vegas outpost of his restaurant in the state.
“Blake doesn’t worry none about the dollars and cents. Any money he loses from cutting back on The Voice he can make up playing more concerts. This worked out just the way he wanted,” the source said.
However, it’s obvious that the tabloid’s claims are contradicting. First, they said that Shelton is stressed over his schedule on The Voice because it restricts his time with his family.
But at the end of the article, they said that Shelton is not as busy as he once was on the show. After all, the schedule of The Voice has been slashed so he doesn’t need to be away from his wife that much.
These contradicting claims suggest that the tabloid is just speculating about Shelton’s schedule. And it’s unlikely for him to be stressing about it because he has so much time with his wife and his stepsons, Apollo, Kingston, and Zuma.
