Jennifer Hudson Allegedly Wants To Headline Her Own Talk Show To Compete With Kelly Clarkson
Jennifer Hudson allegedly wants to compete with Kelly Clarkson by having her own talk show.
In its Nov. 29 issue, National Enquirer described Hudson and Clarkson as competitive. The tabloid also claimed that there’s always been a rivalry between the two American Idol alums.
“Kelly was thrown for a loop when she learned Jennifer was jumping into the fray. She thought with Ellen leaving after 19 years, she would own the daytime market,” the source said.
The insider also claimed that Clarkson was blindsided by Hudson’s decision to headline her own talk show. After all, she knew that Clarkson was excited to no longer have to compete with DeGeneres after the past few years.
“Kelly is afraid that after a season, Jennifer’s show will challenge her in Ellen’s timeslot and steal her audience. Kelly’s freaking out because it seems like the deck is being stacked for Jennifer to succeed, and all the hard work that she’s put in to build a following may have been in vain,” the source said.
According to the source, Clarkson and Hudson have always been at odds with each other because all they wanted was to outdo each other in American Idol. But years after their stint on the singing reality competition, the singers are now competing against each other’s talk shows.
As such, the tabloid is convinced that Clarkson and Hudson will no longer be able to repair their troubled relationship unless the latter doesn’t push through with her plans to headline a talk show.
However, one should take the tabloid’s claims with a grain of salt. There is no indication that Hudson wants to start her own talk show. And even if she does, this doesn’t necessarily mean that she wants to compete with Clarkson.
Their backgrounds as contestants in American Idol don’t have any impact on the shows that they want to host. As such, it’s obvious that the tabloid is just making up stories about the award-winning singers and pitting them again each other even when there’s really no reason for them to.
Hudson and Clarkson are friends. And after all these years, they’ve never said anything about being jealous of each other’s success either. This proves that there’s no tension between the two American Idol alums contrary to what the tabloid is saying.
