Ben Affleck recently sparked rumors that he might have relapsed.

In its Oct. 18 issue, In Touch Weekly published a photo of Affleck looking thin, haggard, and tired.

The tabloid also described the Batman v Superman actor as such. And they also said that his appearance when he stepped out in public with Jennifer Lopez recently was very different from how he looked while he was in Venice.

“He certainly lights up for the cameras, but the guy in the tux smiling on the red carpet with no care in the world is not the real Ben. He is still haunted by his demons. He seems to be leading a double life,” the source said.

The insider also claimed that relapse has always been difficult for Affleck, and all the people close to him. That’s why even though he and Jennifer Garner have been divorced for years, the actress still stepped up and helped the actor when he relapsed years ago.

So, the last thing that Affleck’s family and friends want is for him to suffer another episode. However, it seems that relapse is looming due to some alleged red flags.

“There are some red flags. He still gambles and is in contact with some old friends who could be considered shady,” the source said.

Luckily, Affleck spends most of his time with Lopez, who has reportedly been a good influence on him.

“He’s definitely different around her, and he’s so thankful she came back into his life. But friends think she should tread carefully because Ben is much more fragile than he looks. She watched him hit rock bottom with the rest of the world, so some part of her must be worried it could happen again,” the source said.

However, one should take the tabloid’s claims with a grain of salt.

Affleck is not on the verge of another relapse. Even though this may happen at any given time, Affleck seems to be taking good care of himself.

While it is true that he might have lost some weight in recent weeks, it’s possible that this has something to do with his upcoming role.

Affleck is filming for his new movie in Texas. And this isn’t the first time that he lost weight for a role.

So, at the end of the day, his family, friends, and fans don’t have anything to worry about.
