Prince Charles is allegedly very lonely because of all the things that happened to him in the past year. But he’s relying on an unusual ally to keep him company.

In its Oct. 4 issue, Woman’s Day claimed that Prince Charles became especially close to Kate Middleton during this past year. And the Duchess of Cambridge has been supporting her father-in-law in various ways.

“To his surprise though, the series of unfortunate events has brought him closer to Kate, who’s been a real rock for now just Williams, but Charles as well. He’s always enjoyed her company, but lately, he finds himself calling her up just to chat and enquire after the children. It gives him a real boost and a sense of normality that he craves,” the source said.

The insider added that Prince Charles has always wanted to have a daughter. That’s why he was allegedly so disappointed to learn that Prince Harry was a boy.

So, when Prince William introduced Middleton to the royal family, Prince Charles immediately knew that they would end up together. And as a result, he knew that he would have a daughter in Middleton.

“It’s not like Charles isn’t close to William, but they have a rather businesslike dynamic at times. And given the huge weight of expectation on them both, it isn’t a surprise. But with Kate, Charles finds he can just be himself – a father-in-law and a grandpa,” the sources said.

But while it is true that Prince Charles may really be close to Middleton, no one knows for sure to what extent their closeness is.

No one also knows for sure if Prince Charles also phones Middleton to ask about his grandchildren and other things. After all, this is a private conversation between the royals.

The tabloid also claimed that Prince Charles is very lonely because of the events that took place in the past year, including the death of Prince Philip.

In a new documentary, the heir to the throne revealed the final conversation he had with the Duke of Edinburgh.

Prince Charles said that he and his dad talked about their plans for the latter’s birthday. And Prince Philip could barely hear what he was saying because his hearing is already very poor.

When Prince Charles asked his dad what he wants to do on his special day, Prince Philip said that he needs to be alive for it. The next day, Prince Philip passed away peacefully in his sleep.
