Lexi Jones Has Not Seen Mom Iman In Six Months
David Bowie and Iman's daughter, Lexi Jones penned a sweet tribute to the supermodel in celebration of Mother's Day. But she also admitted that she misses her mom as they have not seen each other in six months.
People reports that there is a simple reason for this. The two live on opposite sides of the country. The 19-year-old lives in Los Angeles while her mother is staying in New York. In the past, it would have been so easy to just fly back to her home, but with the coronavirus pandemic happening right now, it is just impossible to visit Iman.
It is unknown when the teenager left her mother's home. And while her parents are both superstars, the teen has opted for a more simple lifestyle.
She did not venture into music like her dad David Bowie, or into modeling like her mother Iman, but she is still creative in her own way. She is an artist and according to The Daily Mail, she is selling her works on Depop for around $250.
In the now-deleted post for her mother, Lexi shared some photos of the two when she was still young. They were sharing a sweet kiss and then another one with her eating a chicken nugget while seated beside the Ethiopian supermodel. In the caption for her post, she urged everyone to just stay inside so it won't take 2 years before she can see her mother again. Of course, it would be assumed that they do talk on the phone and even video call, but it is still different when you are able to hug your loved ones.
Lexi is the only daughter of David Bowie. He has a son, Duncan, with his first wife, Angie Bowie. He was awarded custody of his son so when he and Iman got married in 1992, she served as the stepmother to Duncan. Iman also had a daughter, Zuleyka, from her marriage to Spencer Haywood.
Iman and David married in a private ceremony in Lausanne in April but their wedding was solemnized in Florence by June of the same year. They stayed together until his death in January 2016 due to liver cancer. The rocker was apparently diagnosed with the disease 18 months before his death, but he chose to not make the diagnosis public.
Like Lexi, Iman also penned a tribute to her late mother in celebration of Mother's Day.
