Drake Allegedly Plotting His Next Big Move After Kanye West Made His Home Address Public
Drake is allegedly plotting his next big move to take down Kanye West. In its September 13 issue, Life & Style claimed that Drake knows how to push West’s buttons so that’s exactly what he’s been doing.
A source claimed that Drake is thinking about releasing his new album, Certified Lover Boy on the same day that West’s Donda alum will be released. This way, he could steal his thunder.
The feud between Drake and West was reignited after the former called the latter burned out while promoting his new music.
Kim Kardashian’s ex-husband fired back by posting Drake’s home address on his Instagram account and then deleting it.
The source claimed that Drake was enraged by what West did, but he didn’t show it because the latter would just attack him even more.
“There’s no doubt that Kanye went too far this time. But Drake knew that he’d be playing right into his hands if he freaked out, so he did the opposite instead,” the source said.
This isn’t the first time that Drake and West became at odds with each other.
According to People, the artists’ complicated love-hate relationship started in 2007 when Drake’s Comeback Season mixtape contained a freestyle over West’s Barry Bonds mixtape.
A year later, Drake released a freestyle over one of West’s projects. And Drake once again did the same thing when he released “So Far Gone” between late 2008 and early 2009.
Back then, Drake told MTV News that he was so inspired by West and his music that’s why he always went in search of his fellow rapper’s inspirations.
“So, before I met him, I had the utmost respect for Kanye West. I'd even go as far as to say he's the most influential person as far as a musician that I'd ever had in my life,” he said.
Two years later, Drake slammed West and Jay-Z, who were working on their joint album, Watch the Throne. At the time, Drake was also working on his joint album with Lil Wayne.
In the same year, Drake said that he didn’t like to be compared to West. In the past, West was his inspiration but Kardashian’s ex-husband eventually became his competitor.
In 2014, Drake also dissed West’s album, Yeezus. But he also said that West is the reason why he’s in the business.
