Queen Elizabeth Allegedly Furious About ‘The Crown’ Including Prince Philip’s Affair With Penny Knatchbull
Prince Philip and Penny Knatchbull’s flirty relationship will allegedly be included in The Crown, and Queen Elizabeth is not thrilled.
In its September 6 issue, Woman’s Day claimed that the queen has always known about her husband’s flirty nature.
And she’s also aware of all the rumors that the late Prince Philip had multiple affairs throughout their marriage.
But now that the Duke of Edinburgh is no longer around, the last thing that the queen wants is to taint her late husband’s name.
A source claimed that the creators of The Crown couldn’t care less about what the queen feels because they are just after the show’s ratings.
In the first season of The Crown, Prince Philip’s friendship with Knatchbull was briefly mentioned. And the ratings for the hit Netflix series spiked.
As such, the tabloid is suggesting that the people behind the series want their ratings to improve in the upcoming season that’s why they could also revisit the friendship of the two.
“So, it’s safe to assume that they’re going to drum up Philip and Penny’s friendship into something more exciting, except this time the queen doesn’t have Philip around to explain it in person,” the source said.
The insider also said that it’s cruel to do something like this to Her Majesty especially since she’s still in mourning. But it’s highly likely for the directors and writers to still carry on with their plans.
“We’ll never know how the queen felt about it all. Philip was always a flirt and the queen used to joke about his lascivious nature. If she had been hurt by rumors, she’d never let on,” the source said.
As of late, there is still no confirmation regarding the direction of The Crown Season 5. So, no one knows for sure if Prince Philip’s friendship with Knatchbull will be included in the storylines.
It is evident that the tabloid is just speculating on what will be included in the show for clickbait.
Prince Philip and the queen were married for over seven decades until the former passed away. This means that they know each other really well.
And it’s unlikely for the queen to tolerate Prince Philip’s behavior if he really flirted with other women or worse if he cheated on the monarch.
By the looks of it, the tabloid is just exploiting the couple’s relationship especially now that the Duke of Edinburgh is no longer around.
