While a tabloid had published a report about Ryan Seacrest not to host “American Idol” Season 18 last year, the story has been busted as being bogus.

 

Last year, a report emerged that the host of “American Idol” will be quitting the popular reality TV show when the season ends. An alleged insider told the magazine: “He wants out” and added that Seacrest already has his hands full.

 

The source further claimed that the anchor has recommended the name of radio host Bobby Bones as his potential successor. The insider continued: “The network says it wants one more season.”

 

However, the source added that the host said that “he won’t be a part of it.” No reason though was given as to why Seacrest had decided to leave the show.

 

When Gossip Cop got in touch with a source close to “American Idol,” they were told that the media personality was not leaving and it was a made-up rumor. The website was also intimated that the report of Bones about replacing Ryan Seacrest was equally incorrect. 

 

It seemed to have been added only because Bones had hosted the show on one occasion when Seacrest was unwell. Deadline reported that Seacrest would be hosting the eighteenth season of “American Idol” in September last year.

 

Meanwhile, even the host had mentioned: “American Idol has been my home for 17 seasons and I can’t wait to return to the stage,” He added that it is the “greatest gift” to get a chance to play a role “in discovering new talent with a franchise” which is so relevant to the American Culture for several years now. 

 

It is correct that this media personality is engaged in several other projects including his radio show titled “On Air with Ryan Seacrest.” However, that is not preventing him to continue hosting this incredibly popular reality show.

 

In other related news, “American Idol” earned the distinction of becoming the first reality competition TV show to broadcast a remote episode last month. The show was aired from the homes of the contestants, hosts, mentors, judges, and musicians amid the ongoing coronavirus lockdown. 

 

WABC-TV reported that the airing of the April 26 episode was extraordinary because it is for the first time in the history of the show in 18 years that Seacrest will host it remotely from his home along with all others involved due to the pandemic. 

 

The host had previously shared: “We will have to start 24 different locations, all from everyone's home in the safety of their own home." It was a big challenge for Ryan Seacrest, as well as, the celebrity judges who had to shoot remotely.
