Selena Gomez was recently linked to Ryan Seacrest after the latter shared a photo of them during Live With Kelly & Ryan.

Shortly after, multiple fans urged Seacrest to pursue Gomez despite their 17-year age gap.

However, in its August 16 issue, National Enquirer claimed that Gomez has not shown any interest in the American Idol host. After all, she’s aware that Seacrest has a reputation for collecting and then discarding the much younger ladies that he pursues.

“She doesn’t want to be another notch on his belt,” the source said.

Seacrest earned this reputation since he has mostly dated women that are much younger than him. And unfortunately, none of his relationships lasted very long.

But Gomez allegedly stressed that even though she adores Seacrest as a friend, that’s all they’ll ever be.

“She sees him as a pal and knows the age difference is probably too much for them to get around. Ryan would be happy to move forward – but he’s picking up on the signals. He’s too proud to push it and wind up being rejected,” the source said.

However, Seacrest showing a photo of himself with Gomez doesn’t necessarily mean that he wants to pursue the singer. As the tabloid mentioned, the A-listers are nothing more than friends.

Meanwhile, National Enquirer has been attacking Seacrest for years.

Last December, the tabloid claimed that Seacrest had been whining about never getting another woman.

A source alleged that none of Seacrest’s relationships work because he prioritizes his work over his relationships. And this is allegedly one of the reasons why Shayna Taylor decided to break up with him.

Two months earlier, the same tabloid claimed that Seacrest’s health was deteriorating.

Seacrest didn’t allegedly take the news of Keeping Up With the Kardashians ending very well since he’s been an executive producer on the show since it premiered years ago.

So, when he found out that the reality TV show would end after season 20, he allegedly stopped eating and sleeping.

However, several months passed and Seacrest still seems to be doing well. In fact, he even managed to host the latest season of American Idol.

Earlier this week, it was also confirmed that he will return as the host of the show. And he will be joined by resident judges Katy Perry, Luke Bryan, and Lionel Richie in the upcoming season.
