John Travolta Allegedly Irked Tom Cruise After Announcing His Departure From Scientology
John Travolta is allegedly thinking about quitting Scientology, and Tom Cruise is aware of it.
In its July 19 issue, New Idea claimed that the recent tragic events in Travolta’s life encouraged him to cut ties with the controversial religion. And even though his decision didn’t sit well with Cruise, the actor couldn’t care less.
“Tom and John have always tiptoed around each other, but they really got into it when Tom recently was informed that John was pulling away from the church. Tom didn’t change John’s mind about leaving, and John made no promises about keeping quiet,” the source said.
The insider claimed that Travolta’s departure from Scientology could put an end to the religion altogether. After all, next to Cruise, he’s the poster child of Scientology.
“He could single-handedly bring down the whole church. John knows a lot. People including Tom should be nervous about what could come out,” the source said.
However, one should take the tabloid’s claims with a grain of salt because they are misleading.
The tabloid’s headline claims that Travolta has already quit Scientology. But the article states that the actor is still contemplating quitting.
After all, Travolta could allegedly follow in Leah Remini’s footsteps since the latter already exposed the dirt on Scientology years ago.
It is also important to note that Travolta has not expressed his desire to quit Scientology. And even if he did, Cruise wouldn’t have anything to do with it because it would be his personal decision.
If anything, Travolta has been very grateful to the Church of Scientology because of the support that they gave him following his son’s death.
Two years ago, the actor told Us Weekly that the church never left his family’s side following the death of his son.
In 2009, the actor’s son passed away after suffering a fatal seizure while they were vacationing in the Bahamas. Prior to his death, the actor revealed that his son suffered from seizures and that he’s also on the spectrum.
“The church never left our sides for two years I don’t know if I would have made it through without their support,” he said.
Travolta’s statement about the Church of Scientology from two years ago proves that he has no plans to cut ties with them. So, it’s obvious that the tabloid is just making up stories about the actor.
