Nicole Kidman made a heart-wrenching confession about Dr. Anthony Kidman, her late father this week. The actress has also opened up about how she misses her mother on Mother’s Day this year.

Kidman’s father passed away a few years ago. His death has left a huge vacuum in her life. The “Eyes Wide Shut” star shared how she would still love to have dinner with her dad if given the choice of any person, alive or dead.

She told WSJ Magazine this week that her dad is not around anymore. The actress said: “He died, and I would love to have dinner with him again.” Kidman was heartbroken when her father died all of a sudden after succumbing to a heart attack. He was 75-year-old at the time of his death. 

The interview also revealed the actress’s relationship with her other family members. Kidman mentioned how she grew up among strong women such as her mother Janelle and her sister Antonia. She added: “I had a wonderful father” and yet most of her family members are females. The “Bombshell” star mentioned: “I have a sister, I have daughters, I have a very strong mother, I have aunts."

Nicole Kidman is known to keep her family away from the spotlight. However, the actress made an exception when she shared a rare photo of her squeezed between her sister and mother in March this year on the occasion of International Women’s Day. 

The actress’s family is in Australia at present amid the coronavirus lockdown. On the other hand, she is in Nashville with her husband Keith Urban and their two kids. It is evident that Kidman is missing her mother and other family members a lot. 

On the other hand, her husband said that he is having a great time with the family. The country singer is known to have mentioned: “It's early days, still, in a lot of ways, but it's been a very vibrant house."

Meanwhile, Kidman spoke to Sydney Morning Herald over the telephone and revealed how distressed she was for not being able to see her mother on May 10, which is celebrated as Mother’s Day across New Zealand and Australia.  

The mother-of-four said: “We're in a position where we just have to relinquish control right now and go day by day." While the actress is trying to remain positive even during the coronavirus pandemic, she cannot bear to be away from her wider family. 

Nicole Kidman described her mother to the outlet as “my mentor, my guide and my nurturer". She added:” "And I am down-on-my-knees grateful to her."
