Bill Gates and Melinda Gates’ marriage is over and the former is allegedly to blame.

In its May 24 issue, In Touch Weekly claimed that during the latter part of Bill and Melinda’s marriage, the former started making outrageous demands.

The billionaire previously asked Melinda to allow him to go on yearly vacations with his ex-girlfriend, and his ex-wife had no choice but to agree.

Bill never allegedly got over his ex, Ann Winblad after their split. In fact, the billionaire asked Winblad’s opinion first before he proposed to Melinda.

“Gates has an arrangement with his wife that he and Winblad can keep one vacation tradition alive. Every spring, as they have for more than a decade, Gates spends a long weekend with Winblad at her beach cottage on the Outer Banks of North Carolina, where they ride dune buggies, hang-glide, and walk on the beach,” the source said.

However, it was Bill’s alleged affair with Zhe “Shelly” Wang to become the final straw for Melinda. But despite the tabloid’s claims, Wang has denied having an affair with the Microsoft CEO.

At the end of the day, the Gates are just focused on protecting their three children. Unfortunately, the divorce still hurt them in the end.

Meanwhile, the source also said that Bill is worried that he would lose his status as one of the richest people in the world if his ex-wife continues to go after his assets.

“Bill and Melinda have more money than they can ever spend in a lifetime, but Bill is a very proud man. Melinda could walk away with half of his fortune,” the source said.

However, there’s one claim made by the tabloid that can’t be possibly true. And that is, Melinda will walk away with half of her ex-husband’s fortune.

After all, Melinda previously released a statement saying that she won’t seek spousal support from Bill.

It is also important to note that Melinda’s net worth is estimated at $2.4 billion. Even though this figure is relatively small compared to Bill’s $126.9 billion net worth, it’s still more than enough for her to lead a lavish lifestyle.

And when it comes to Bill’s indiscretion, there was reportedly an investigation regarding the billionaire’s affair shortly before he resigned from the board last year.

However, it is important to note that Bill’s affair took place over two decades ago so it can’t be with Wang, who joined his foundation in 2015.
