Meghan Markle, allegedly, gave her sister-in-law, Kate Middleton a knife for Christmas.

The revelation came from Vanity Fair royal watcher Victoria Mather during her interview on “MSNBC Live.” During the discussion, Mather also said some other negative things about the Duchess of Sussex. And these were picked up by Celebrity Dirty Laundry.

According to the tabloid, Markle decided to quit the royal family because she didn’t want to keep living in Middleton’s shadow. The tabloid quoted Mather’s previous statements about the “Suits” alum refusing to spend the rest of her life looking at Middleton as she sat behind her.

“Don’t forget Prince Harry is – you know, has always been the spare to the heir… I don’t think she wanted – she didn’t want to be second best. And I don’t think she got that that was what – that is what the fusty-dusty protocol that the royal family consists of. It’s a matter of precedence,” she said.

However, Gossip Cop said that it is unlikely for Markle to quit the royal family because of Middleton. And Mather’s statements cannot be deemed accurate because they came from a place of bias.

“I do hear she gave Kate a knife for Christmas. Which is quite something, isn’t it?” Mather said.

Shortly after Mather’s interview, “MSNBC Live” reporter Lindsey Reiser said that none of what Mather’s said has been confirmed by the palace. As such, one should take them with a grain of salt.

Gossip Cop also stressed the fact that Mather isn’t a reliable source when it comes to royal news or stories about Markle in particular. After all, she’s not really a royal watcher.

When she worked for Vanity Fair years ago, she, reportedly, worked as a travel editor. At present, she is working for Air Mail as a chief travel editor.

Celebrity Dirty Laundry was also wrong to say that Prince Harry and Markle gave vague reasons for their Megxit. This isn’t entirely true because the royal couple made it clear that they want to be financially independent of the royal family.

The Duke and Duchess of Sussex also want to have some privacy, which they couldn’t get as senior working royals.

Prince Harry also revealed that the constant negative criticisms that his wife has received are another reason why he decided to relocate overseas. The Duke of Sussex made it clear that the safety of Markle and their son, Archie is of utmost importance to him.
