Queen Elizabeth and Meghan Markle have been rumored to be at odds with each other for months.

In its Jan. 11 issue, Woman’s Day reignited the speculations that the queen and Markle are still not on good terms following the latter’s Megxit.

The tabloid claimed that Prince Harry plans to return to the United Kingdom to have a conversation with the queen, Prince Charles, and Prince William.

The Duke of Sussex wants to ask the senior royals to give him and his wife a year-long extension before Her Majesty decides whether the couple can still be welcomed back into The Firm.

Last year, the queen said that there would be a review regarding the terms of Prince Harry and Markle’s Megxit after one year. And the first year anniversary of the couple’s Megxit is nearing.

A source also claimed that Prince Harry wants to ask the queen if he and Markle could keep some of their patronages even though they are no longer considered as working royals.

As of late, it is still unclear if Markle will join Prince Harry on his upcoming trip to the United Kingdom.

But the source said that Markle’s presence would just do more harm than good for everyone, especially the queen.

“When it comes to Meghan, she intends to be very firm. And she won’t hesitate to put her in her place should she need to. She was hoping this kind of conversation wouldn’t have to happen again,” the source said.

After all, the source insisted that the queen already gave Markle several chances.

As for Prince Harry, the queen is willing to listen to her grandson’s requests. However, the queen won’t be tricked into giving the Duke of Sussex everything that he wants.

Meanwhile, Woman’s Day isn’t the only publication that has been saying that Prince Harry and Markle will ask the queen for an extension.

In an article for The Telegraph, royal commentator Angela Levin said that there are a handful of reasons why Prince Harry could request an extension.

Levin said that it is highly likely for Prince Harry to be missing his family. The Duke of Sussex must also be missing all the privileges he received as a royal.

Prince Harry and Markle may also want to reconnect with their charities. And he also wants to be able to keep his military titles.

The royal commentator added that Prince Harry must have also realized that being a royal is forever while being a celebrity isn’t.
