Ellen DeGeneres and Portia de Rossi were rumored to renew their vows over the New Year.

Before the couple welcomed 2021, several tabloids claimed that DeGeneres was planning on proposing to de Rossi again.

Globe was first to say that DeGeneres had a heart to heart talk with her wife about the future of their relationship.

Following a tumultuous 2020, the Ellen Show apologized to de Rossi for not giving her much attention.

DeGeneres also thanked the Scandal star for staying with her even amid all the mean girl criticisms that she received.

A source told the tabloid that DeGeneres then opened her wallet as big as her heart and told de Rossi that she could spend any amount on their renewal of vows.

This, allegedly, made the Ally McBeal star very happy and excited because DeGeneres is usually strict when it comes to money and their spending

However, exactly a week has passed since the New Year and DeGeneres and de Rossi still haven’t renewed their vows.

It’s obvious that the tabloid just made up this storyline about the couple.

However, Globe isn’t the only tabloid that tricked their readers into thinking that DeGeneres and de Rossi were renewing their vows.

New Idea also alleged that DeGeneres spoke with de Rossi over the holidays to thank the latter for all her support.

The comedian realized that she shouldn’t have taken her wife for granted because of her personal and professional struggles.

“She’s no longer taking her home life for granted. For both of them, this feels like a fresh start,” the source said.

As part of the couple’s relationship reboot, DeGeneres, allegedly, proposed to de Rossi again. And they have agreed to renew their vows.

However, no renewal of vows has taken place since the couple tied the knot on Aug. 16, 2008.

DeGeneres and de Rossi have been married for over a decade, and it’s highly likely that they’ve had ups and downs in their relationship.

Still, DeGeneres and de Rossi have always shown their fans how united and strong they are.

As such, the tabloid’s claims that DeGeneres took de Rossi for granted due to the criticisms that she received and her busy schedule aren’t true either.

No one knows what goes on in the couple’s lives behind closed doors. And the tabloids are just speculating on DeGeneres and de Rossi’s marriage.
