Taylor Swift and Harry Styles had a short-lived romance in the past. The two talented music sensations are now neck and neck to clinch the Number 1 spot in this week’s music charts.

Styles and Swift had a brief romance, and they were an item. However, several years later, theirs is still one of the most-discussed relationships. The former One Direction star had once revealed that certain things did not work out between them. However, he has always been full of praises for Swift’s tremendous musical talent. 

As of now, the duo is neck and neck as their albums are both competing for the Number one spot. The Grammy Award-winning singer dropped her second surprise album of the year, Evermore, last month. It was a follow-up album of Folklore, which was released in August last year. 

Evermore made its debut at the number one spot on the Billboard 200 and was at the top position even last Monday. On the other hand, Styles saw a surge in his album Fine Line’s sale as well. The album was dropped in December 2019, according to The Sun.

The 26-year-old singer came up with a new music video for his song Treat People With Kindness, which was included in Fine Line. It made its debut on New Year’s Day and had actress Phoebe Waller-Bridge featuring in it. 

The video's backdrop is in a showy nightclub, and Styles is seen playing the female part while dancing with Phoebe. Both of them sported matching suits. 

Harry Styles toppled Taylor Swift from the Billboard Hot 100’s top spot in August last year when he had his maiden number one hit. The singer climbed to the top spot with his song Watermelon Sugar by surging ahead of Swift’s song Cardigan, which is a part of Folklore, according to Daily Mail. 

Styles’ melodious number was earlier at the seventh spot in the listing. The listing is published once a week and is based on radio play, streaming, and sales number in America for the previous week. 

Harry Styles once said that it was flattering to find that he inspired his former girlfriend’s excellent songwriting. For the universe, the former One Direction band member is believed to have inspired Swift for writing two tracks- Out Of The Woods and Style, both in her album 1989.

Meanwhile, Folklore, which is Taylor Swift’s eighth album, has been going places. It has emerged as the Number 1 album of the last year with 2.3 million sales. Lil Baby’s My Turn is on the second spot with 2.1 million units, according to Variety.
