Katie Holmes has, allegedly, been dying to change her daughter Suri Cruise’s last name for years.

According to New Idea, Holmes believes that the only way for her to legally change her daughter’s surname is if she weds Emilio Vitolo.

A source told the tabloid that Suri has also wanted to change her surname since she was 12. And if Holmes won’t wed Vitolo, the 14-years-old would be more than thrilled to be known as Suri Holmes.

“Katie’s dad is looking at what can be done, but it’ll be like poking a bear. It’s been since Suri was 12 that she's wanted this, mostly out as a gesture to her mom. They can’t ignore this forever,” a source said.

The source also claimed that Holmes even thought about marrying an unnamed man because she’s desperate to change her daughter’s surname.

 According to Gossip Cop, the rumors about the actress tying the knot and Suri changing her surname started after Holmes posted a photo of herself wearing a white dress.

The tabloid immediately assumed that the Batman Begins star is wearing her wedding gown.

However, a rep for the actress immediately debunked the wedding and surname rumors. And until today, Holmes hasn’t tied the knot again.

Suri still carries her dad’s surname. And it’s unlikely for her to change her family name until she’s old enough to tie the knot herself.

The rumor-debunking site also busted the tabloid for concocting all sorts of lies about Holmes throughout the years.

There was a time when they claimed that the actress got back together with Chris Klein. They also linked her with James Marsden.

At one point, they also claimed that Holmes and Justin Theroux are dating. And Jennifer Aniston allegedly gave them her blessing.

And if the tabloid isn’t linking Holmes with a slew of men, they are out there accusing her of being pregnant.

Meanwhile, the tabloid recently claimed that Holmes and Vitolo will get engaged on the actress’s birthday.

But Holmes’ birthday came and went and there’s no confirmation about their engagement.

It is important to note that Holmes and Vitolo just started dating last year. So, it’s unlikely for them to tie the knot anytime soon.

Additionally, Holmes and Vitolo have not even talked about their relationship publicly. So, it’s unlikely for the tabloid to know the couple’s plans.
