Meghan Markle and Prince Harry spent their first Christmas in the United States last month.

In its Jan. 11 issue, Star claimed that the couple started their own Christmas traditions with Markle’s mom, Doria Ragland.

Prince Harry and Markle’s son, Archie was also present during their simple celebration in their house in Santa Barbara.

A source told the tabloid that the Duke and Duchess of Sussex exchanged presents on Christmas Day.

Prince Harry, allegedly, gifted his wife with a necklace to match the ring that he gave Markle on their first wedding anniversary.

Markle, on the other hand, gave Prince Harry an ugly sweater, which he wore on Christmas Day.

The source said that Prince Harry is used to wearing a suit and tie when he celebrates the holiday with the royal family at Sandringham. But this year, Markle wanted her husband to let loose and have some fun.

The Suits alum also surprised Prince Harry with a memory box filled with notes and photos from when they first met.

As a family, the Sussexes also made a gingerbread house with the help of Archie and Ragland.

Markle ordered a big turkey for their feast, and she also cooked some of the dishes that their family devoured on Christmas Eve and Christmas Day.

Meanwhile, the insider also claimed that Prince Harry and Markle are already focused on what the New Year has in store for them.

After launching Archewell foundation last month, they also announced their partnership with Spotify.

Over the holidays, Prince Harry and Markle unveiled the first episode from their podcast, and it’s an episode where they expressed their gratitude to the front liners.

This year, the Duke and Duchess of Sussex will also release their first project with Netflix after signing a multi-year deal with the streaming site months ago.

“Harry always dreamed about making it on his own and he’s pulled it off. He’s well on his way to conquering America,” the source said.

In related news, a royal expert recently said that it’s unlikely for Prince Harry and Markle to ever return to their royal duties.

A source told Daily Mail that Queen Elizabeth won’t also welcome the couple back into the royal fold after they signed another multi-year deal with a company.

The source said that Prince Harry and Markle can’t do both their roles as private citizens and as royals without any conflict.

As such, the couple signing deals left and right is their way of telling the royal family and the public that they’re not coming back.
