Concerns Over Prince George's Future Raises Questions Of Exploitation And PR Stunts
Royal children have always been a great source of interest for the Royal Firm. When a Royal is announced to be bearing a child, it becomes very big news, especially if someone directly to the throne is to be born.
When Prince George, 7, was born, there was a massive shift in the people’s opinion of the British Monarchy. The seven-year-old royal is the third-in-line to the throne and, even at a very young age, has garnered massive approval from his constituents.
But there are concerns being raised by other people regarding how the young royal is being raised. In the past weeks, it was revealed that Prince William and Kate Middleton would allow Prince George to foster more royal duties.
Anti-royal movement Republic has expressed its apprehension about this move by the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge.
Republic’s president Graham Smith spoke to Express UK about Prince George’s future role. He claims that the Royal Firm is forcing things unto the child. Furthermore, Smith alleges that the Palace is exploiting the child.
"The royals need to stop exploiting him and his siblings for PR purposes. They need to do everything they can to ensure that they have a normal life and are free to make their own choices on whether they want to be an active part of that institution,” Smith shared to the outlet.
The Republic CEO even went on to say that Prince George’s religion and career path has been chosen for him already.
This might be true, but parents of the future King, William, and Kate Middleton, have made sure that George and his two siblings lead a normal life despite having royal titles.
Royal Expert Robert Fitzwilliam asserted his different opinion regarding the topic of Prince George being exploited.
Fitzwilliam told Express that Prince George could not be treated as a normal child due to several reasons. One is the security concerns that surround the prince. Another reason is the international interest he brings.
According to the expert that it is not impossible for the Prince to lead a less ‘spotlighted’ life, and it is through arrangements made by the Royal Firm and the media.
Other royal members have chosen not to give their children royal titles in hopes that an untitled royal will have more opportunities outside of the Firm.
Much like Prince Harry and Meghan Markle, their son Archie Harrison leads a very private life due to this reason.
