Prince Harry And Meghan Dodging 'Judgement Day', Wants Extension For 'Megxit' Deal
It has almost been a year since Prince Harry and Meghan Markle announced their plans to leave the Royal Family. This coming January 2021 marks the time the royal pair made their exit plans public.
This has also raised the concerns surrounding the duo’s deal struck with other senior royals during the Sandringham Summit, which will be under review on March 2021, 12-months, since they officially stepped down from their royal duties.
There have been reports circulating that Prince Harry has been in constant contact with the Queen, and apparently, the Duke of Sussex has asked for an extension from their ‘Megxit’ deal review.
The Sun UK published Sunday that the Duke of Sussex has requested for the Palace to give his brand an extension in a bid to ensure a more permanent deal, where they can continue to be non-working royals while keeping their royal patronages.
It is impossible to say whether Prince Harry will be able to speak to other senior royals regarding the review of their Megxit deal in person. It has been claimed that a video call will be taking place if a face-to-face meeting is impossible.
Prince Harry and Meghan Markle are rumored to have expressed their desires to visit the UK on Prince Philip’s 100th birthday and the Queen’s 95th birthday. It is believed that this will also be the time Harry will ‘tie it all up.’
The couple is hoping for the renegotiation to be ‘less confrontational’ than the first summit, which led to reports of Prince Philip’s disappointment with Prince Harry.
Furthermore, their recent commercial deals with Netflix and Spotify will also play a large role in the decision of the Queen regarding their future. The extension might give Her Majesty more time to evaluate these said deals.
Royal biographer Andrew Morton spoke to The Sun, revealing that the tense situation between the Royal Family and the Sussex’s have definitely ‘tensed down,’ and that Prince Harry has been in contact with the Queen more often than thought of.
News of the extension is a developing story, and many commentators believe that these reports are all untrue.
“This review period was inserted in case Harry and Meghan wished to return as working royal, but they have made it clear they want to live an independent life,” an unknown source told The DailyMail UK.
Another source points out that Prince Harry and Meghan are very happy with their brand new life and an extension is not an option the couple wants to fiddle with.
