Shannen Doherty is battling stage IV breast cancer.

Unfortunately, the actress’s health struggles were recently preyed on by a tabloid.

Gossip Cop debunked National Enquirer’s claims from last month after the tabloid alleged that the Charmed star is looking for a miracle cure for her illness.

A source told the tabloid that Doherty is desperate for a cure that’s why she has decided to try an assortment of herbal remedies.

The actress has also allegedly been trying Chinese medicine and herbal remedies. And she has also been consulting with a number of specialists to help with her illness.

Additionally, the tabloid also claimed that Doherty tried acupuncture, teas, and a strange assortment of herbs with wonderful benefits.

These non-traditional medicines allegedly have the power to slow down or even stop the spread of the actress’s breast cancer.

However, the tabloid also backtracked on their dubious claims a bit by saying that Doherty hasn’t completely given up on her more traditional treatments.

The actress just wants to exhaust all possible cures that can help her live a long and healthy life.

They also said that Doherty’s husband had been nothing but supportive of her decision to try non-traditional medicines.

However, Gossip Cop debunked the tabloid’s claims by calling them bogus. The rumor-debunking site also spoke with a rep for Doherty and was told that the actress isn’t looking for a miracle cure.

Last year, Doherty’s breast cancer resurfaced. And in September, she spoke with Elle and said that she’s not ready to sign off just yet.

The actress said that her diagnosis helped her value life even more, and she has also learned to live for all the small moments.

“The small things are magnified for me. We have this endless well within us, and it’s just about continuing to dig in that well for the strength to face adversity — and so that we can also see all the beauty,” she said.

On her social media account, Doherty also regularly shares photos of the people she’s most thankful for.

In November, she shared an adorable photo with her mom on the latter’s birthday.

Doherty captioned the photo by thanking her mom for all her love and support.

In August, the actress also shared a cute photo of herself with her husband while lounging outdoors.

In April, Doherty said that quarantine was bearable because of her husband, Kurt Iswarienko.

The couple has been married since 2011.
