Princess Diana would’ve been devastated if she found out that Martin Bashir tricked her into giving an interview for Panorama in 1995.

In its Dec. 28 issue, Us Weekly said that if the investigations prove that Bashir lied to Princess Diana, the latter would be heartbroken because she only trusted a few people.

Since the Princess of Wales was very naïve, she immediately believed Bashir when he showed her fake bank statements.

A source told the tabloid that some people already questioned how Bashir managed to get an interview with the late royal years ago.

But even then, Princess Diana stood by the journalist because she treated him like her friend. However, little did the mom of two know that she could’ve been betrayed.

Meanwhile, Prince William is involved in the ongoing investigations regarding Princess Diana’s interview.

Another source said that the Duke of Cambridge regrets getting upset with his mom after the interview aired.

In 1995, Prince William, reportedly, lashed out at Princess Diana after his schoolmates teased him after they saw his mom’s interview on television.

Prince William also hated the fact that Princess Diana seemingly aired Prince Charles’ dirty laundry on television.

However, now that there are claims that Princess Diana was tricked into giving the interview, Prince William couldn’t help but feel upset.

“He believes Diana was manipulated and exploited by Bashir and is determined to get to the bottom of it,” the source said.

Prince Harry, on the other hand, is also upset with what Bashir and the BBC did to his late mother.

According to the source, the Duke of Sussex is furious over all the shadiness and conspiracy theories circling around.

But if there’s one good thing that came out of Princess Diana’s controversial interview, it is that Prince William and Prince Harry were forced to come together to defend their late mother.

Despite all their issues, Prince William and Prince Harry are united in trying to clear Princess Diana’s name.

The source said that if the siblings’ relationship improves for good because of Princess Diana’s interview, this would be the silver lining that emerges from the darkest clouds.

The royal family is also on Prince William and Prince Harry’s side. Even though Princess Diana was no longer a royal when she passed away, she was still legally married to Prince Charles when she gave the interview.
