Kelly Clarkson Reflects On The Garth Brooks Songs Amid Divorce
While music can be a companion to many people in different situations, even Kelly Clarkson is no different as she chose music to heal herself and get through difficult times. The 38-year-old singer and songwriter is currently going through a rough patch in her life, and recently she revealed how she is coping up with her divorce struggle.
The singer said that she has been listening to a lot of Garth Brooks' songs, especially The Dance that is helping her out amid her separation from her estranged husband, Brandon Blackstock. The former couple has cited irreconcilable differences for their divorce while they share two children together, and Blackstock had two more children from his previous marriage.
It seems Brook is trying his best to help Clarkson to see the silver lining as he had experienced divorce in the past. The 58-year-old singer and songwriter recalled his divorce and said that he couldn't nail down his feelings completely, but he didn't want to be delusional about his failed relationship.
The musician explained that staying in denial mode is not going to help to get out of it. However, he disclosed that when he was listening to his playlist and came across The Dance track, he understood that it is going to be his thing.
Clarkson’s perspective was also changed with the poignant lyrics, and even she revealed writing down a song based on a similar message. In fact, the host said that it is going to be on her upcoming music album. However, the From Justin to Kelly star made it clear that her version of the song will not be a rip-off. Instead, she created an original song inspired by Brooks' song, which is therapeutically for the singer.
“It’s actually on my next album and it’s the whole kind of come around, like the little tag part is like, ‘Even though my heart is broken, it was worth the dance. I think what’s interesting about it is I sang from childhood and it never hit me," she explained.
After listening to the vocals, Brooks acknowledged the song and said that it has a great character. The legendary singer liked the song so much that he created an intro for the music track right away while singing a couple of lyrics. Clarkson got emotional and immediately covered her face. Both the singers concluded the show by singing In Another's Eyes together.
