Madonna Tests Positive For Coronavirus Antibodies, Attends Party
It seems that Madonna is done with the social distancing rules being enforced right now.
According to Page Six, she apparently tested positive for coronavirus antibodies last week. She posted about it on her Instagram account and even said that she was now ready to breathe in the COVID-19 air while driving with her windows down.
Not only that, the 'Like A Virgin' singer even attended a birthday party for photographer Steven Klein. The Daily Mail has posted photos of the party, which had been attended both in-person by at least eight people and at least a hundred virtually.
The 61-year-old singer was one of the at least eight individuals who were there and was even seen hugging the birthday celebrant, despite the social distancing orders in the country right now. She also said that he will be given a COVID cake as part of his party.
The test that was administered to the pop star has proven that she has the antibodies for coronavirus, but it is still not advisable to reject the quarantine orders. According to the Centers for Disease Control, just because you have the antibodies does not mean that you are already immune to infection from the coronavirus. All it means right now is that Madonna has had exposure to COVID-19. There is still much to be learned about the virus so it is difficult to claim that the antibodies mean you will not get sick.
Many were not happy with Madonna's decision to go to a party despite the quarantine mandate. Although it is not known where the party was held, the fact of the matter is, she deemed it safe enough to flout social distancing rules. People clearly needed to be 6 feet apart and wearing masks but that is clearly not the case because she was seen hugging Klein while he was thanking everyone who joined his party, whether virtual or in person.
This is not the first time that she has made the news over some questionable statements or decisions during this pandemic. Earlier she received the ire of many when she claimed that the virus was an equalizer for everyone. The insensitive statement caused such a backlash that she had to delete it soon after.
At present, the coronavirus pandemic has affected more than 3.5 million lives all over the world, with almost a quarter-million deaths. 1.1 million of those cases are from the United States.
