Catherine Zeta-Jones took to her Instagram handle to post an adorable picture of Kirk Douglas, her late father-in-law. She mentioned how much she missed him every day. 

The Mask of Zorro actress took to the photo-sharing app and shared an endearing photo of herself with her late father-in-law this Wednesday. It was a beautiful black and white picture where the late legendary actor is seen planting a kiss on his daughter-in-law’s cheek. Zeta-Jones is seen leaning over him, her eyes closed.

The Welsh actress paid this heartfelt tribute on the late actor’s birthday. She wrote how much she missed him every day and wished him a happy birthday. Her followers were ecstatic, with one mentioning what a beautiful picture it was.

A second wrote that they felt Kirk should have won an Oscar for his stellar performance in the film Lust for Life. A third follower mentioned that the late actor was one of their idols.

Kirk’s eldest son Michael Douglas also posted a touching throwback slideshow featuring himself and his late father. Michael revealed the best advice Kirk gave him in a voiceover and wished him a happy birthday. He also wrote how much he missed his late dad. 

The clip was a compilation of a string of Michael's photos, and his late father clicked on different occasions. It begins with an image of a young Michael standing next to his dad and ends with the late actor in his old age. 

His wife was the first one to comment on the post. Catherine Zeta-Jones posted two heart emojis in response to her husband’s emotional tribute. Michael and Zeta-Jones had tied the knot two decades ago, and they share two children – a son and a daughter. 

Kirk passed away in February this year, and he was 103-year-old at the time of his death. His son and daughter-in-law celebrated his first birthday since his death. 

Meanwhile, Michael explained that his father had advised him that no matter what he does, it should be done to the best of his ability. Kirk also told the Basic Instinct actor to forget about it after giving his best, according to Daily Mail.

Kirk was married twice, and he shares two sons Michael and Joel, with Diana Dill, his first wife. The couple divorced in 1951, and the late actor got married to Anne Buydens just three years later. He also had two sons from his second marriage.

Michael Douglas and Catherine Zeta-Jones also shared several fond memories associated with the legendary actor in an interview. The couple feels that Kirk Douglas was one of a kind. Michael also mentioned that his father would love to tease him and wanted to speak to his wife every time they spoke over the phone.
