Lizzo Opens Up About Body Shaming And Negative Thoughts
Singer Lizzo opened up about her personal battle in an emotional video shared on TikTok. The 32-year-old musician has always been vocal about body positivity and slamming people who body shame others.
Although the singer recently got candid and revealed that even she has some moments that make her vulnerable. The singer talked about having negative thoughts in her new TikTok video. She addressed her fans and followers on the video-sharing app and disclosed the thoughts she sometimes gets about her own body.
"I came home, and I took my clothes off to take a shower, and I just started having all of these really negative thoughts about myself," Lizzo explaining her negative thoughts. The Cuz I Love You star further shared that she started to think about what's the matter or maybe it is everything that is wrong with her.
In fact, she begins to think that all the mean things others say about her might be true. She disclosed that she questioned herself about why she is so disgusted while hating her own body. Moreover, she said that she usually gets something positive in her head to stop the negativity, but this time there was nothing to get over it.
However, Lizzo further said that it is alright to think like this sometimes as a human being; it happens to everyone once in a while. She further said that everyone is at their best, and whatever negativity is in our heads at the moment is going to change tomorrow.
The singer is hopeful that it will change for good while she acknowledges that she is beautiful. However, she said that she doesn't feel beautiful today, but she will get through this phase. Lizzo wrote in the caption of the video that this message is for those who are having such negative thoughts, too, and she hoped that tomorrow would be better.
She also shared another video in which she showed off her body while rubbing and hugging her arms, stomach, and shoulder while sporting Black undergarments and Batman briefs. Previously, the singer had called out netizens who were body-shaming her.
She noted it had been over five years that she is consistently working out, but doing it for herself and not suffice her body-shamers' ideal body shape. She also shared a video of her workout session that includes jumping ropes and doing squats.
