Johnny Depp Has Become An Outcast In Hollywood After His Legal Defeat?
Actor Johnny Depp has applied to the court of appeal against a high court's judgment, which ruled that he had assaulted his former wife Amber Heard while they were married. Now a magazine purported that the entire Hollywood is against the actor.
Fans would remember that the Pirates of the Caribbean star had filed a defamation suit against The Suns’ publisher after the latter labeled him as a “wife-beater.” This led the Hollywood A-lister to sue the parent company of the tabloid called News Group Newspapers.
The article had produced certain evidence of him attacking his 34-year-old former wife during their marriage. Just last month, the judge dismissed the actor’s claim and ruled that the publisher had proved their article correctly.
According to Sky News, the actor appealed to a higher court after he was asked to pay £630,000 to the publisher for its legal expenses.
Meanwhile, Depp has lost the case, but a tabloid has claimed that the entire Hollywood is against him. It seems that many have left his side due to the morbidity that surrounds him now.
The magazine appeared to insinuate that his offers are getting dried up and wrote at the same time, he gets a paycheck of $10 million per project. This is even though he has now exited from the popular franchise Fantastic Beasts. The report further indicated that the actor may be in a desperate situation and needs to improve his bank balance.
The magazine also quoted a fictitious insider who claimed that several projects have become uncertain as there is so much unpleasantness surrounding Johnny Depp.
Depp might not be doing too well professionally at this point in time, and his legal battle may continue. However, that does not mean that Hollywood has made him an outcast, according to Gossip Cop.
A few public-relations experts have suggested that there is a mixed reaction. For instance, the Polish EnergaCamerimage Film Festival declared that they had awarded the actor for his “unique visual sensitivity.”
The festival even took to Twitter and reportedly shared a photo where the actor was seen posing with his award from his jail in the Bahamas, according to USA TODAY.
The chairman of Reputation Management Consultants, which is based in Los Angeles, Eric Schiffer, mentions that people should not underestimate the devotion of his fan support. The actor’s fans have always supported him on social media, as well as in person.
They have been backing Johnny Depp even when his divorce case was going on in 2016, as well as during his libel lawsuit in London. His supporters were seen standing outside the court and cheering for him. The expert says that the court's latest ruling has a lesser chance of his box-office getting affected.
