Trey Songz Concert Witnessed COVID-19 Violations At Ohio Nightclub
Trey Songz recently held a concert that was attended by 500 people. The concert took place in an Ohio nightclub, which has been cited for COVID-19 egregious violations related to public health. The club located at 1921 Channingway Center Drive didn't have any social distancing measures.
The club was jam-packed with around five hundred people that is 15,000-square-foot in Columbus shopping plaza. The Ohio Investigative Unit issued a statement on Dec. 5. According to The Columbus Dispatch, the undercover agents from the unit informed that there was improper conduct in various activities such as liquor permit violation.
The reports also mentioned that Trey Songz's concert didn't keep people apart from one another, be it on the stage area or dance floor. Moreover, the bartenders and staff were also not keeping their masks on to stop the coronavirus spread.
The undercover agents went to the club in plainclothes and witnessed that the concert had many people without masks while sharing several alcoholic beverages. In fact, they were passing the same bottle to one another in the group. One of the Ohio Investigative Unit enforcement commanders, Eric Wolf, disclosed that the environment was basically similar to a rock concert.
"There was very little going on as far as any attempt for social distancing. If you had taken that event and put it in 2019, it would have been pretty much the same concert and same event that was taking place last night,” the officer explained.
The officer further said that the number of people gathered at the concert was a complete disregard of the social distancing measures. Moreover, it was at the extreme opposite side of the health orders issued for the nightclub.
The videos and pictures of the nightclub show surfaced on the internet, in which most people were without a mask when the 36-year-old rapper and singer performed. The state has reported over 7,000 deaths and 484,000 cases of coronavirus.
Another place in the city, Putnam Tavern in Zanesville, also came under fire for the same violation after more than 25 people gathered in the bar without any social distancing. Mike DeWine, Ohio Governor, revealed last month that they are trying to slow down than shutting down.
In fact, they announced a curfew of 21 days statewide between 10:00 P.M. to 5:00 A.M, including drinks and food serving places should also shut at 10:00 PM to ensure that the virus doesn't spread further. However, the rapper will face any penalty or not is still kept under wraps.
