British actor Hugh Grant was seen in the lead roles of several hit films in Hollywood. However, despite his huge fan following, the star decided to take a break from his acting career. 

He has been the hero of several hit films, including Sense and Sensibility, Notting Hill, and Four Weddings and A Funeral, among others. Yet, there was a time when this versatile actor decided to take a break from acting in films. 

His fans were delighted when they saw him making a comeback in HBO’s miniseries The Undoing. The 60-year-old actor has now opened up about why he decided to give a pause to acting. 

Grant accepted that he was not quite comfortable to take a break from leading roles when he started getting fewer offers from Hollywood. He even went to the extent of saying that he developed a “bad attitude,” which was a reason for being on a hiatus. 

Hugh Grant was eventually ready to play character role s after being a romantic lead in many films. He was interacting with the Los Angeles Times when he told the publication that he thought he had enough after acting in Music and Lyrics in 2005. He acted in another movie four years later. 

The actor felt he was not taking a break from Hollywood, but the reverse happened because of the fate of his movie Did You Hear About the Morgans? The actor became an activist and got linked to politics. 

Although the actor acted in several romantic-comedies, he decided to opt for semiretirement. He made a return with some fascinating character roles. Viewers now love him in the role of Jonathan Fraser in The Undoing, which has been a kind of renaissance for him to make a comeback to his original roots, Showbiz Cheat Sheet reports. 

The Love Actually star has now jested that he decided to accept the offer to act in The Undoing partially because his kids exhausted him. He feels his children are young and tiring for his age, Daily Mail reports. 

Grant thought that it would be a good idea to stay away from his family. However, he missed them terribly whenever he was in New York. He would dash into a café and order some coffee whenever he felt sentimental.
