Julia Louis-Dreyfus Opens Up About Virtual Table Read Of 'Veep'
Julia Louis-Dreyfus revealed that the popular sitcom, Veep's cast, will reunite for a virtual table read. However, the 59-year-old made the announcement in a unique style. The actress spoofed Rudy Giuliani on Nov. 24 as she made the announcement to support the upcoming elections for Georgia Senate.
The hilarious video was pack with a glimpse from the past episodes of 2016 of the sitcom in which the presidential election is going on and people demand to recount the votes. Meanwhile, there are other protesters who asked the recount to stop immediately.
It turned out to be one of those celebrated moments from the HBO comedy based on politics. The voice-over of Louis-Dreyfus in the video mentioned that over the last couple of weeks, many fans and followers of the series have noted that the television show and the ongoing elections had many similarities.
After the voice-over, the actress appeared in a press conference background and made an impression of Giuliani. The actress recreated the moment when the 76-year-old former Mayor of New York City recently held a press conference and hair dye streaks were running down through his sideburns.
"Literally thousands, or hundreds of thousands, of cases that, to any experienced investigator, prosecutor, this would suggest there was a plan from a centralized place specifically focused on Veep," she said. Moreover, she said that this is not the first time but a pattern that keeps repeating itself.
The actress further asked if viewers have watched Veep and then noted that it is one of her favorite shows. She didn't hold herself back to mention that there is a "nice lady" on the sitcom. The reunion of the cast will be joined by some special guests during the virtual table read.
Louis-Dreyfus disclosed that the table read will be done for their Mother episode, which won an Emmy award. This is the iconic episode that showcased protestors asking to recount. The video posted on Instagram captioned that 2020 is "ripping off" the sitcom, and they had to take a certain action.
The cast members have previously come together for a fundraiser to support the Democratic party in October. However, the upcoming event is held to create awareness among the viewers and encourage voters to step out to vote in Georgia for the upcoming US Senate elections.
