Alex Rodriguez, Jennifer Lopez Drops Livestream Event At Saks Fifth Avenue
Alex Rodriguez and Jennifer Lopez seem to be doing everything to spend more time together. Recently, the adorable couple joined Marc Metrick, who is Saks Fifth Avenue CEO and President, to launch Saks Lights Up Fifth Avenue.
It is a holiday light show and window display for retailers. The entire event has been designed to keep people at a social distance. In an interview with People, the 45-year-old former professional baseball player that Saks plays an important role in his life as he was born in New York City.
He explained the high standard of the luxury department chain and recalled when he used to walk past through the store with his mother, the experience was "unattainable." Rodriguez compared Saks with the Statue of Liberty and Yankees.
He further said that one just become part of the great window display. Rodriguez admitted that there couldn't be a better time to visit the greatest city in the entire world than Christmas.
The company usually closes Fifth Avenue because of the iconic event held annually, but this time due to the ongoing coronavirus pandemic, Saks will hold the event through live stream and display multiple stores through window displays. Moreover, the department store chain will donate to different non-profit organizations, $100,000 during the holiday season.
"It is our priority to create unique and memorable experiences that connect with our customers in a meaningful way. We recognize that celebrations during this time will take many forms," Metrick explained.
It has been a great year for the newly engaged couple, who are eagerly waiting to get married. However, things went downhill for Lopez recently when she got accused of wearing a similar-looking outfit at the American Music Awards.
Netizens accused the 51-year-old actress and singer of copying Beyoncé's look from Grammys performance in 2014. The 39-year-old singer has performed at Grammys with her husband, Jay-Z, at that time.
While Beyonce was present at the recent event held on Nov. 22, fans could still sense her presence through Lopez's performance. Besides the outfit, even the hairstyle and the props, everything gave major vibes to Beyonce.
Lopez donned a catsuit in black with wet hair locks and shorts. Moreover, she also danced while using a chair on the stage with colorful lighting. In the background, dancers could perform behind the jail bars before the star made her cabaret-style moves with chair choreography.
