Prince William, Prince Harry’s Feud Reportedly Started When They Were Kids
Prince William and Prince Harry’s feud, reportedly, started when they were much younger, but it is only recently that it came to light.
Princess Diana’s former protection officer, Ken Wharfe, previously recalled a car ride with the late royal and her sons.
Prince William and Prince Harry were, reportedly, arguing when the latter told the former that he could do anything because he’s not going to be king.
The Duke of Sussex stressed the fact that since he won’t be king, he’s free to do whatever he pleases. And he and Prince William already knew their fates even at a young age.
However, despite their bickering in the car, Prince William and Prince Harry’s argument was dismissed by royal experts because it didn’t seem serious.
But it was already paving the way for more issues between the brothers to be exposed. After Prince Harry started dating Meghan Markle, he wanted to become more independent from Prince William.
The Duke and Duchess of Sussex wanted to do things their way, but Queen Elizabeth didn’t always approve because Prince William and Kate Middleton were being prioritized.
As such, Prince Harry and Markle decided to quit The Firm in January so that they can become more independent from the royal family.
On the Royals podcast, royal expert Robert Jobson said that Princess Diana might have encouraged Prince Harry’s decision to quit The Firm after he met someone who was willing to go rogue with him.
When she was still alive, the Princess of Wales used to call her youngest son “Good King Harry” because his personality was more fitting for a future king.
However, it has been a slap on the Duke of Sussex’s face to be reminded of the fact that he will never be king. And this reality, reportedly, encouraged him to just distance himself from the royal family.
In the book Battle of Brothers, royal author Robert Lacey said that Prince William and Prince Harry’s feud worsened after the former asked their uncle Charles, Earl Spencer, to intervene.
Charles, reportedly, tried to convince Prince Harry not to rush into marrying Markle. But when he found out that Prince William was the one who asked him to intervene, he became even more upset.
The Spencer intervention obviously didn’t work because, after just over a year of dating, Prince Harry and Markle tied the knot at Windsor Castle.
Prince William served as his brother’s best man at his royal wedding.
